你好！多謝你的信息！我打英文比較快, so please let me reply in English. Both the active users on this wiki right now are FANDOM staff, we're trying to create a base for Chinese users to talk about the game - especially the upcoming Ace Combat 7.
The reason why we're uploading original images (with Chinese filenames) is to gain higher SEO value from search engines, in Chinese. But I agree we don't need to do that for every image, and we should try to share resources.
If you're interested, please feel free to edit anything on this wiki. We're just building the base (and because I'm a long time Ace Combat player!), our hope is that users will take over it eventually.
Thank you for your reply! I type in English much more often than in Chinese, so I am fine with continuing our conversation like so.
Understood on reuploading images with Chinese filenames. We should be fine with that for files with high relevance or importance, use existing files for the more trivial images.
I can help adding content to this wiki when I have time, and ask a few others I know from Ace Combat Infinity to help out as well. The one thing that got me hesitated from starting a Chinese language wiki is what names we should use for game titles, planes, and names outside AC7, since most of the games were not localised, so there's a dilemma of whether to use an unofficial Chinese name or go with Japanese / English names. But for now we can also just focus on AC7's content since it's probably the most relevant game people want to look up at the moment.
Awesome, thanks for the reply and understanding! That makes sense, so we'll upload only key images with Chinese names, and use existing shared photos for non-essentials. I think the two wikis are already linked so we should be able to access the English images.
Yes, would really appreciate if you can please help edit the wiki. Regarding names, for most of the real planes in the series, we can use the Chinese names from Wikipedia. Like F-22猛禽戰鬥機 - actually sounds so cool in Chinese! With fictional original names, we can probably go with English, as many of the Japanese names are English spelled in katagana anyway. Especially if the game is only available in English or Japanese, it's probably not necessary to make up unofficial names that don't appear in-game.
It's too bad Infinity's service ended. I was hoping they'd bring it to the PS4 and/or PC.
OK I can go with your proposal. It's great that we get to discuss this together so we will know how we should start this off; starting a wiki from scratch can feel like an incredibly daunting task.
On the other hand, we probably also need to get some templates sorted out too. The English wiki uses a lot of them for infoboxes, as well as links, referencing, and notices. Importing them directly over should be easy, then we can decide how we can tailor them to our needs.
HI Qbicle! It's great to see your edit. Templates now are imported from zh wikipedia and may not fit fandom well so importing templates from English should be a good idea. About the way to start, for there are many contents for all of the games in Ace combat series, contents related to the forthcoming Ace combat 7 may be priority now.
